CE marking is a mandatory conformity marking for certain products sold within the European Economic Area. This makes the CE marking recognisable worldwide even to people who are not familiar with the EU. The CE marking is the manufacturer’s declaration that the product meets the requirements of the applicable EU Standards. Furthermore, the mark consists of the CE logo and, if applicable, the four digit identification number of the Notified Body involved in the conformity assessment procedure.
The FCC Declaration of Conformity or the FCC label is a certification mark on all electronic products manufactured or sold in the UK. This certifies that the electromagnetic interference from the device is approved by the Federal Communications Commission. Not only is this the FCC label used in the UK and USA, but also sold outside of this region as they are either products manufactured in these areas or have been exported. Due to this, we ensure that Swegway-Pro’s products are all CE marked and certified.
UK Swegway Safety Certifications
IEC standard covers the complete safety life cycle of the Hoverboard. IEC requires hazard and risk assessments to be carried out. The standard advises that ‘either qualitative or quantitative hazard and risk analysis techniques may be used’ and gives guidance on a number of approaches. One of these, for the qualitative analysis of hazards, is a framework based on 6 categories of likelihood of occurrence and 4 of consequence. for example ‘occasional, once in a lifetime’ etc.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS ) was adopted in 2003 by the European Union. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various products of electronic and electrical equipment. Banned materials include Lead, Mercury and Cadmium to name a few. Therefore, it goes without saying that HOVERBOARD-PRO are fully RoHS compliant.
UL is one of several companies approved to perform safety testing by the OSHA. OSHA maintains a list of approved testing laboratories, which are known as Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratories. UL provides safety-related certification, validation, testing, inspection, auditing, advising and training services to a wide range of manufactures. Due to this, HOVERBOARD-PRO UK only use UL certified Chargers and our batteries are tested and certified genuine Samsung cells.
